Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very famous. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts that led her to feel unwelcome. In the 9th grade, she began to feel more secure after being praised by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. The experience not only boosted her confidence but also shifted the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In the year 23 she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot, she played The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. In the following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. A well-known performer, she also has released an album and a musical. In addition, she is an LGBT activist.
